This section explains how to uninstall the following software programs:

  • Before uninstalling ScanSnap Home, deactivate the license for ScanSnap Home in the following procedure.

    1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home on the computer that you are using the ScanSnap with.

    2. Select [Settings] in the menu [Preferences] to display the preferences window.

    3. Select the [Account] tab and check that the displayed serial number is the same as the serial number for the ScanSnap that you are using.

    4. Deactivate the license with one of the following methods:

      • In the case that you have signed in with a ScanSnap account

  1. Click [To remove the license activation, click Here] to display the ScanSnap account information page.

  2. Sign in by entering an e-mail address and a password for a ScanSnap account that you want to cancel the license activation for.

  3. Click [Remove license activation] for [Current License Information].

    • When 'SimpleActivation' is displayed in [Current License Information], it indicates that the license has been activated without signing in with a ScanSnap account.

      Cancel the license activation with the computer that you are using with the ScanSnap whose name is displayed under [Current license number].

    Click the [Sign out] button to deactivate it.

    1. Turn on the computer and log on as a user with Administrator privileges.

    2. Exit all running software programs.

    3. Display the window for uninstalling software programs and then display a list of currently installed software programs.

    4. Select a software program to uninstall.

      To uninstall more than one software program, repeat steps 4 to 6 for each software program.

    5. Click the [Uninstall] button.

    6. Read the message and click the [Yes] button.

    The software program is uninstalled.

    Mac OS

    This section explains how to uninstall the following software programs:

    • Before uninstalling ScanSnap Home, deactivate the license for ScanSnap Home in the following procedure.

      1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home on the computer that you are using the ScanSnap with.

        Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

      2. Select [ScanSnap Home] on the menu bar [Preferences] to display the preferences window.

    1. Turn on the computer and log on as a user with Administrator privileges.

    2. Exit ScanSnap Home if it is running.

    3. From the sidebar in Finder, select [Applications] [ScanSnap Home], and drag the [ScanSnap Home] folder into the Trash.

    4. Empty the Trash.

    The [ScanSnap Home] folder is deleted and the uninstallation of ScanSnap Home is complete.

    • When a user other than the user who uninstalled ScanSnap Home has set ScanSnap Home as a login item, delete [ScanSnap Home] from the list of login items in the [Users & Groups] window.

      1. Log in as a user who has set ScanSnap Home as a login item.

      2. Select [System Preferences] from the Apple () menu to display the [System Preferences] window.

      3. Select [Users & Groups] to display the [Users & Groups] window.

      4. From [Current User], select the currently logged-in user.

      5. Select the [Login Items] tab to display the list of login items.

      6. From the list of login items, select [ScanSnap Home].

      7. Click the [] button under the list of login items.

    ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap
    1. Turn on the computer and log on as a user with Administrator privileges.

    2. Exit ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap if it is running.

    3. From the sidebar in Finder, select [Applications] [ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap], and drag the [ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap] folder into the Trash.

    4. Empty the Trash.

    The [ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap] folder is deleted and the uninstallation of ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap is complete.

    ScanSnap Online Update

    • Before uninstalling ScanSnap Online Update, make sure that ScanSnap Home is not installed.

    1. Turn on the computer and log on as a user with Administrator privileges.

    2. From the sidebar in Finder, select [Applications] [ScanSnap Online Update] [Sub], and then double-click [AOUUninstaller].

    3. In the [ScanSnap Online Update Uninstaller] window ([Welcome to ScanSnap Online Update Uninstaller]), click the [Continue] button.

    4. Read [Read Me], and then click the [Uninstall] button.

    5. In the authentication window, enter the user name and password for a user with Administrator privileges, and click the [OK] button.

    When ScanSnap Online Update is successfully uninstalled, the [Uninstall Succeeded] window appears.
